In the fall 2025 semester, I was given the assignment of proposing a research question and using a method of rhetorical criticism to analyze it. For the assignment, I chose to research public discourse surrounding the true crime genre and the effects it has on the understanding of the criminal justice system. To further analyze and make commentary on the topic, I chose the method of generic criticism.
